There is some medical equipment that can easily get in stores medical equipment, such as wheelchairs, thermometers, or some other simple medical equipment. However, for large equipment such as X-ray or similar tool, normally can not we buy with much. Even if we could afford it, the price will be very expensive. Therefore, tools like this are usually only available in hospitals. In fact, any hospitals do not necessarily have all types of medical devices that exist. EEG and EKG are examples of medical devices that are owned by almost all hospitals.
EEG (Electro Enselografi) and ECG (electrocardiogram) are two types of tools that are similar yet different functions. However, because like many people are mistaken and consider these two tools together. To better understand, here is a difference of EEG and EKG:
EEG (Electro Enselografi)
This tool is used to record electrical activity in the brain. Neurons in the brain would emit electric waves with the very low voltage which is then supplied to the EEG. From this flow will get the results in the form of a written chart of electric potential activity in the brain. This graphic representation, in the form of waves alpha, beta, theta and so on which will then be analyzed by a doctor of radiology in order to know whether or not abnormal electrical activity in the brain. Patients who will do the EEG is required to wash it first to ensure that the head is clean. Then it will be fitted at some point in the head. These checks can be done in a conscious and are not, but if the patient examined in a conscious then there will be some instructions from the officer who must be obeyed. For example, patients will be asked to close their eyes for a few moments or other Instru.
ECG (electrocardiogram)
It is one of the most common tools used, serves to record changes in electrical potential on the heart which is connected with time. From the results of using these tools, it will be known whether there is an abnormality in the patient's heart or not. EKG is not only performed in patients who have problems in heart, but also frequently used as one inspection in the medical check-up standard.
